Assets at the centre of the strategy

We bring lawful asset leads, preservation, enforcement objections and recovery options into one case strategy, with clear explanations for international clients.

Discuss Your Matter

Our focus is mainland China. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan involve distinct legal frameworks.

02 / OUR APPROACH

Clear thinking.
Considered action.

Cross-border enforcement calls for more than a court filing. It calls for a realistic assessment, an asset-led plan and a clear view of the decisions ahead.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you
take the next step.

Can every foreign judgment be enforced in China?

No. Recognition and enforcement depend on the applicable treaty or reciprocity framework, the judgment and the statutory review requirements. A case-specific assessment is needed; overseas recognition does not happen automatically.

How long will enforcement take?

There is no reliable universal timeline. Recognition requirements, service, asset availability, objections and the court process can all affect timing. An initial assessment can identify the main variables without promising a completion date.

What should I share in a first enquiry?

Start with the parties’ names, the place and type of decision, and a short description of the matter. Avoid sending confidential evidence or sensitive personal data before conflict checks and an appropriate communication channel are agreed.

Does contacting you create a lawyer-client relationship?

An initial enquiry alone does not establish an engagement. Representation is subject to conflict checks, acceptance of the matter and agreement on the scope and terms of engagement.

LET’S START WITH CLARITY

Your next step
starts here.

Contact our Shanghai office about judgments, arbitral awards, asset leads or an enforcement matter that has stalled. We can discuss the information needed for an initial assessment.

For an initial conversation, a brief overview is enough. We will agree how to share case materials after conflict checks.
